[FC] Putting an Early Turbo Dash into a PG FC

I'm considering installing an early turbo dash into my wife's Greenbrier 
Deluxe.  I have a spare turbo dash, and there is a still-present knockout viewable 
from the rear.  Would not that slot be for the shifter only?  How about a 
view window for the "L,D,N & R" ?  Has any one made the conversion I speak of?  
Is there a way to accommodate both the shifter and the selection view?
