Just letting you all know I have announced my intentions to run for the open
position of Eastern Division Director of CORSA. My statement has been sent
to the Vice-President (Scott Morehead) per CORSA requirements and will be
published with the others in an upcoming Communiqui.

I think most of you on Virtual Vairs know me, or at least think they do, but
I would like to give you all a little bit of biography (without repeating my
statement too much) and some of my philosophy.

I have been a CORSA member for 18 of the last 25 years (brief hiatus late
80s-early 90s while raising children and settling my career). I have
attended 9 national conventions and more local shows than I can remember. I
have been a member of Tidewater Corvair club since 1995 and am currently
serving as President, just re-elected. I am also a member of Corvanatics,
Virtual Vairs and a past member of DACC. I have been very active in all club
activities including tech sessions (giving and receiving), parading,
showing, fixing, restoring, writing about, and
"whatever-you-name-it-I-have-probably-done-it" Corvairs.

I have been working on Corvairs since I was 16 years old. My first, second
and third cars were all Corvairs. I have one Corvair I completely restored
from beater status to Factory Stock, Seniors Division , 2 more in "limbo"
restoration, and "about 2 more" in parts. I have an extensive Corvair
library; in fact, my books, a Corsa dash and a box of AC PF-4s and air
filters were the only Corvair things I kept between 1987 and 1995, even
while making two cross-county moves!

I live in Virginia Beach, Virginia, home of Tidewater Corvair Club. I am a
residency trained, Board-Certified and thrice-recertified Family Physician.
I have previously served as an Assistant Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts, and
have previously served on numerous community boards and associations,
including Lions Club. Rumor has it, I even have my very own Telescope
orbiting this planet (grin).

In short, I believe I have a good combination of Corvair, business, and
professional skills and knowledge to bring to the Corvair BOD, and now that
my kids are grown (?) I believe I finally have the time to devote to the
demands of the CORSA directorship.

Most important, I drive an Early Model Corvair, which everybody knows, shows
my intelligence and good taste. (Hey! --you didn't think I 'd miss that
opportunity, did you?!!!)

Seriously, I like all Corvairs (just like Earlies better...) and I want to
give something back to the club that has given so much to me. I think I can
serve the club well as Eastern Director, and I invite you to support me, if
you agree. I am welcome to any and all questions, suggestions (well, maybe
not THAT one!) and will do my best to help CORSA grow and support its
membership, if elected to serve.

Thnks for the bandwidth.
