Thanx Joel... yeah... 4 speed fer shur.... I am really glad to hear that it is
a 3.27 diffy. Previous owner said it was a 110hp and it sure can lug at slow
speed and spit fire when I stomp on it. Gonna rebuild or replace the
accelerator cable and clutch cable. I can't stand a tough clutch or a sticky
accelerator. And the shift linkage is real loosey goosey.
I have the air/heater assembly out and clean. I noticed the rubber edge of the
fresh air valve (flap) had one little 3/4 inch piece missing. The rest of it
seems in real good condition. The warm/cool mixer flap is all good. Do I need
to replace the rubber edge of the fresh air flap? I think that air from the
engine fan (unheated) will try to get through until the thermostatic doors
open. A little air coming through would probably be a good thing anyway?
I took out all of the rivets holding the rear upper duct together. The foam
lining was all crumbling to dust so I cleaned that all out. I plan on
replacing that with that silvery milar bubble plastic stuff. Anyone have
experience with something like this? I saw somewhere that this area sees temps
of around 180 F.... ?

  Merv,

  The YN on the engine could be a '61 98hp 145ci, '62-63 102hp, 145ci, or a
110hp 164ci motor. I'm not totally proficient with visual clues, although a
'64 should have the magnesium fan and a two piece harmonic balancer. To be
99% sure we'd need the numbers off the head, and a CORSA Tech Guide to cross
reference them.

The tranny is identified by the HA as a '62-64 Manual 3/4 spd diff,
non-positraction, with a 3.27 ratio. If you tranny has 3 forward gears, then
it's a 3 spd.... IF you can shift up into a fourth forward gear, then it's a 4
spd.

    Hi all!

Can someone help with this mishmash of numbers... I understand that my 62
GB had a 110 car engine put in, but I'd like to know if the tranny clutch and
diff are GB or car.

    Engine - T0416YN
    Tranny - SF 2 27
    Diff - mucho numeros
                B1 62
                 3780270
                 GM 4
                  HA 2 02

    gratias amigos y amigas!
