[FC] plastic chips in #1 side valve cover

Hi all,

I has a valve knocking on the passenger side valve cover, I removed valve cover, put on plastic cover and starting trying to adjust valves, at some point, found plastic chips in valve cover, probaly something from the top of the valve?

should i freak out and start to cry, i guess i should pull the valve cover, valves and start looking 

any suggestions, it is reasonable to think i can find a used head, or just lay down bucks ($500+) for new headwork

this is 64 'brier w/110 motor, 51,000 original miles
