here is my two cents.  My pumps on my corvairs do sometimes leak.  One morning 
I see it dripping out of the fuel pump and at lunch it is fine and good to go 
for as long as it wants.  I do have an extra one (fromt the Source) that I have 
not got around to putting on yet because when I am ready to change it, the damn 
thing does not leak.  My engine oil is not diluted.  I can change a stock pump 
in under 11 minutes.
