Having a problem sealing the PG Trans pan on my 1964 Greenbrier. I have
used 3 of Clarks cork & rubber gaskets. I have reverse punched the bolt
holes on two pans and I am still getting leaks at the front left corner
of the pan when it sits overnight. The bolts were torqued to specs & I
am using AMSOIL Synthetic fluid.

Here is a little trick I discovered. Do reverse punch the bolt holes
flush or a little past flush. Then look at the pan gasket area and see if it is
all level. If not take a hammer and a block of wood and straighten it,
especially the corner that seems to leak. Make sure that the trans sealing area is dry
and clean, no oil film. Same with the pan gasket area. Now, put a 40 mil
thickness layer of RTV on the pan sealing area, lay the gasket on that and cover
the gasket with a film of RTV. Reclean the trans gasket area and make sure it is
dry. Now assemble the pan to the trans and only slightly snug the bolts so
they are contacting everywhere evenly. Let dry for all day or overnight. Now
torque the bolts to whatever you want but no more than 35 pounds inch.
    Hope this helps.
