[FC] Replacing FC Shift Linkage Bushing

Hey everybody:

The 4 speed conversion of my FC is continuing.  One problem I have run into 
is the shift likage bushing.

I am installing the late style components in my van.  There is a bushing 
that goes in the metal box that mounts under the floor.  The problem is that 
there is a pin that sticks out of the front piece of the shift linkage (the 
one that the shifter fits into).

Does anyone you how to remove that pin?  I can't fit the linkage piece 
though the bushing with that pin there.
