First of all, this would not be a restoration, more like the building of a
Street Machine. The size of the motor would be intrusive into what is
normally a passenger or storage area. Keeping it quiet would be difficult,
keeping it cool would be even more difficult as there is no real room to
put a radiator up front, and anything using the side vents would most
likely be woefully inadequate. That said, there have been successful
conversions of Corvairs into v8 and v6 power both using the Caddy
conversion or the v6 but I have never seen much done with a van other than
a mid engine with a small block chevy, and even this for drag racing only,
not as a "driver"
