[FC] Hydraulic Clutch for FC?

I don't know where to find a 1 7/8 inch t/o bearing, I started 'getting the
picture' of the replacement situation with David Herrin's post. If the
shorter bearing works, then I was wrong.

However, I am very skeptical. In the context of the clutch geometry, the
bearing is WAY short. I measured a clutch fork and did some math, and the
difference in length of the bearing (.57") translates to almost an inch
(.93") at the outer (cable/rod) end. After taking up that much slack in the
adjustment of the cable, it seems to me that the bearing and fork are far
out of their original design positions before you even start to actuate the
clutch. Is there 'room' for that much difference?

Several listees have mentioned 'early' clutch actuation problems, but noone
has said the short bearing works fine for them. Does it work for anyone?
Perhaps the vendors could speak up here. Perhaps there has been discussion
on other lists, I don't know.
