the parking lights can be wired by a simple change of position of one wire at the light switch to come on with the headlights like newer cars(see the tech guide). all 4 headlights are on in hi beam position. dimmer switch connector may be bad from overheating. i run aircraft landing lights as high beams on all of my corvairs. regards , tim colson C N Y C C V I C E
