chatter can and is caused by things that aint sposed to be...such as uneven
surface on flywheel, pressure plate or disk, or oil/greasy fingerprints on
disk(doesnt take much and it takes forever to burn off) . i used to rough up all
surfaces a little with a 60 grit disk...flywheel, pressure plate and disk. that
wore in nicel;y and felt good. new pilot bushing lubed lightly(so it does not
migrate to disk area!) and make sure disk moves smoothly on the input shaft.
checking carefully all items before assembly should give you a smooth
clutch...motor mounts are a bigger problem on fc's also.just check everything out for
tightness/loosness etc and you should be fine..i take any ridges or roughness
off the shaft splines on a belt sander. make it shine!.but i do enjoy my
powerglides a lot now especially on group tours/caravans...
