[FC] Use of Galavanized Steel for Body Repairs

Has anybody out there used galvanized steel in making body repairs?

I seem to remember reading somewhere that you could use it if you treated it with metal prep or some other etching treatment before primering.

I was thinking of using galvanized sheet metal to repair the rust on the bottom of my rampside ramp.
