[FC] wierd electrical problem

I had a similar problem YEARS ago with a 6V, 1948 Ford PU. I had charged the
battery, apparently hooked up the cables backwards and the vehicle Polarity
changed.  My electrical guru at the time told me to discharge the battery
compleletly, recharge it correctly, and then POLARIZE the generator.
Remember generators? those are the things we had before alternators.  They
do require polarizing.  Anyway, it was years ago, but I remember it did fix
the problem.
