Bill,

We went looking all over WA state trying to find a RS for a buddy of ours.
As it turned out he didn't get one, but Shawn and I (he posted pics of his
beaut yesterday) ended up getting one each for ourselves.

With a little digging around I might be able to find the pics of the others
we looked at in WA (only one was a runner though)

-check the structure of the body as it goes from the footwell area up over
the front wheel
-check the box section of the frame rail as it goes up over the rear wheel
-metal below the gas filler neck
-metal below the battery box
-front crossmember

I think you'll find most FC's fall into two catagories. They've lead a hard
life as work trucks and are total projects, or cherry examples that have
been either loving cared for all their lives, or have been lovingly
restored. When we were looking we didn't find a whole lot in the middle
ground.

If you can find a wrecked FC van you could probably get some good metal to
fix up the patch job on the bed.

You might want to think about joining Corvairs Northwest. Super people, and
a great resource. They'll know where to point you for the kind of things
you're going to need, because you're not going to find it in the local Napa.
It's out there, you must need to know where to look.

Good evening FC enthusiasts:

I have come across a 4 speed Rampside for sale. It runs, is registered and
has a clean title. Nevertheless, it needs some restoration work.

But either I am looking in the wrong places, because specific info about
this model
seems sparse. My main concerns at this time are:

1.) Is there anything specific to FC's in general or Rampsides in particular
that I should be aware of?

2.) Finding replacement floor panels and cargo bed. The truck now has
pop riveted sheetmetal floor and a steel plate welded in the pickup bed.

I appreciate any info and please take it easy with a newbie to this board.

Thanks.
