MessageFurther to Joel's kick in the pants reminder, the July 15th deadline for CTD TShirts and CTD Awards Banquet is just around the corner.
We really want to see as many Corvairs and Corvair people represent at Hot Nite In The City as possible! So far only about eight have confirmed.
Lets get on it folks!

Subject: WC: Hemmings Classic Car Aug Issue - "Cool Corvairs"

If you haven't picked up your copy of the current issue of Hemmings Classic Car magazine, you're missing out on a treat. For the south island folks, Bolen Books still has a few copies left.

For those of you sitting on the fence about Kamloops and Corvairitis Treatment Day, I'd like to share a quote from the Editor of HCC about Corvair enthusiasts....

"....it was especially satisfying to see owners of origina-type cars admiring modified cars, and vice versa, which you certainly don't see enough of today. All too often purists look down upon owners who tweak and modify cars for better performance, or customize them to suit their own tastes, but not these Corvair owners. Everyone admired and appreciated all the Corvairs on display - even those daily driven-type cars with their somewhat disheveled patina - and that was very satisfying to see.
What I like most about Corvair owners is that they're down-to-earth type of people; at least the ones that I've met. At Corvair functions there's none of that elitist snobbery that is so prevalent in other collector-car circles, which makes Corvair events far more enjoyable and welcoming than most. And the owners of Corvair span the gamut of professions: from tradesmen to doctors, teachers to lawyers, everyone, regardless of age or financial status, is attracted to Chevy's rear-engine masterpiece."

I'd say that pretty much sums it up. Well, it may be doubly true for WCC. Hope to see you there!

Regards,
Joel
