[FC] Fuel tank draining and removal

I am a little confused by some of the replies on this subject. On my '61 Greenbrier the fuel pickup is on the top of the tank like most vehicles of today and not in the lower corner like my '63 Coupe. Maybe some years are different? If the tank is like mine I would say the options are run it dry, use a pump to empty it, knock a hole in it that will need to be fixed later, or if the level is low just go ahead and drop it out carefully as is and then drain it. That is what I did when I bought mine several years ago and what was in the tank didn't look or smell anything like gasoline. As mentioned it would be a good idea to use a sealer after it is cleaned out. Make sure the lines aren't clogged and the float doesn't have a hole in it like mine did.
