Self tapping square head screws are VERY common in aluminum trailer manufacturing now.  They are less likely to strip when you put them in.  However they are very easily stripped when you remove them. This is especially the case when they are "double" square.  At first glance they look like Torx screws, but are not.  Make sure to use a GOOD hardened S2 bit.

Superior because you can remove them with a phillips or straight screwdriver
when you don't have the Robertson bit. Been there done that on a travel
