[FC] spark plug numbers

The major reason the extended nose plug was made for other cars is
so the tip was exposed to the flame in the cylinder so it would self
clean and at the same time they could use a little colder pug and
still meet emissions.

As far as using them on a Corvair? I know several people do but
personally I don't see the need to run anything like that as long as
your engine is in relatively good shape and AC44F and the Bosch plugs
are available,

The plugs that you mention the "X" probably has a .060" plug gap
and the "S" probably has a .040" gap, that is from memory and not
looking at the books.

Greetings out there- Can anyone tell me what the difference is between
an AC plug appended with an "S" versus an "X", as in 44FFX/44FFS???. I
understand the FF part, and I know that one or the other is an extended
tip. The
difference is------------?? Does any one care to comment on the
relative
performance of an extended tip? I would think it would provide a more
even or
symmetric flame front. Thanks for your comments.
