I know you are old enuf to be somebody's father, Frank, but that is no
excuse for forgetting that installation is a whole differ'nt ball of wax
than removal.

Maybe (it's not my job to remember these things) you have an FC block in
your Brier ("FC Oil Fill Tube"), in which case this should be easy, not
requiring comment, but since you are asking, maybe you have a car block
without the FC's special tube --

Some car tubes don't remove "nice & easy" -- many do, especially if you
have the block out of the car and upside down over a hole in a bench --
it's just not a nice clean job looking up at the motor inards with the
pan off. Of course, you can try a solid insert in the tube, clamped with
a pair of Vise-Grips on the end of your slide hammer, and try pulling it
from the top -- if it isn't glued in, they can come out without undue
frustration -- I prefer to glue mine in so they don't leak (aviation
Permatex or such).

For your consideration: If you want to drill the above oil line vent
hole in a car tube, it is an easy job while that tube is on the bench ...
