[FC] TIRE SIZE - HOW BIG CAN YOU GO?

I have 215 70 14 tires mounted on 14x6 rims with 3.5" back spacing.  They fit fine and fill up the wheelwell nicely.  They don't rub, but you must have the jack under the lower control arm to take the wheel off.  If you let the wheel and lower control arm hang down the top of the tire hits the quarter panel when removing.  4" of backspacing on the front and the inside lip hits the outer end of the tie rod.  If you were to use a 15" or 16" wheel I "think" you could use more backspacing on a wider wheel to fit a wider 225 or 235 tire in there.  A larger diameter wheel will put the tie rod inside the rim and not running into it.  I'm going to send you some pics showing the difference between a 195 and 215 tire package.  Visually its a big difference.

Any thoughts on how big a wheel / tire can be installed on a 'brier? The
stock 195 / 14"'s I have now look plenty tight in the rear, but I have
a friend who's added 205/14's, and have been told that 15"'s
will fit - must require some offset...

Appreciate the input...thx!
