?? Well, you are mostly correct JR. The battery in question is a group 51 battery and you want the "R" desination for the reversed terminals so they are oriented in the correct manner. If you go into a store and ask for a 51R battery you should come up with the correct battery. 
??? Still do check the orientation of the terminals so they are in the correct position. They shoud be the postive on the forward side and on the engine side of the battery, the negative will be on the other end in the same manner. if the terminals are on the side of the battery away from the engine, the cables will not reach. Not even if you turn the battery around.

R51... I think it might also go by G51.  Anyway, the point is to have the 
battery terminals in the correct orientation.
