[FC] intro

Hi All,
Just joined the list. I recently got a 1963 Rampside after years of looking.
it is a former Southwestern Bell work truck out of Abilene Texas. My other
passion and hobby is old telephones so when I found this I knew it was meant
for me! I live in South Florida. It appears to have been sitting since 1968
in dry storage. I have a bunch of pictures posted here:

I have pulled the engine in preparation for rebuilding and the brakes are
next. I am new to Corvairs but not new to working on cars, I spent over 35
years as a mechanic and am now the service manager at a Toyota dealer. For a
start, my first stupid question, is there anything special I need to know
before tearing this engine down? I have already been warned to keep the head
studs in the block. The reason I ask is I already broke the collar on the
diff during removal as I did not know the input shaft came out. I was told
afterwards I should have pulled the entire drivetrain as one unit. i have a
new collar already so the diff will be on the list now. Looking forward to
hearing from fellow FC lovers and can't wait to get it on the road! I plan
on driving it to a phone show in North Florida come January.
