[FC] Limp van door outside handle

Spring. Not as in the Spring, flowers will bloom..:>)  Also, methinks 
judicious careful application of some foam cushions will help the rods. 
There are several different innards to door lock mechanisms. I have no clue 
what goes to what and don't remember the differences.

My van's side doors have a case of the rattles. This weekend I'm going to 
attempt to adjust the latches and catches to lessen this. While I'm there 
I'd like to figure out why the outside handle is limp.

This seems like a common thing. What's the usual fix?
