Ed,
Thanks for the info. Yes, my van is a greenbrier, so I suspect it had a different interior color. Do you know what normally is the color under the dash?

Unfortunately I am 'parts poor' and cannot help with the parts you're looking for.
Steve

Steve, I'm semi-restoring a 62 Corvan. So far I have found thru research, talking to other FC guys etc that the load floors are a darkish gray which might be termed charcoal gray.I've found on some FC's that the floor color under the front mat in the drivers compartment is black.I believe "standard trim" refers to the upholstery. My sources tell me that silver was the interior color on std interior in 61. All the side metal panels of the doors as well as the inner roof panels are silver the header above the windshield and the metal panels of the front doors are also silver. Is your 61 a greenbrier? If so they had various interior colors matching the outside color. I've not found 743F but exterior colors used a "700" in 61 and went to "500" prefix in 62.
By any slim chance would you happen to have a good used 14" wheel, perhaps a good front floor mat, front bumper guards or outside ventshades? I'm painting my panel a nice soft almond color with a Ford Grabber Blue stripe. Ed in Dade City, Florida

I know that many of the experts have discussed paint colors in the past, and I’ve looked through the archive trying to try to resolve some questions: Any help that can be offered would be appreciated.

The color code is a rare 743F, which I have not been able to identify, with std trim. The original colors have been largely obliterated over the years, although I suspect a red or maroon exterior. Can anyone help?

These are probably really dumb questions:
What would be the floor color? What remnants of original paint I can find on the front floor of the cab look like a dark somewhat metallic gray – might this be the “charcoal gray? What’s the difference between ‘Charcoal gray’ and ‘Charcoal poly’? Should the floor be a different color from the rest of the interior?

Does standard trim mean that the interior color is the same as the exterior?

If I were to paint the interior a different color (say fawn beige) than the exterior, what elements of the interior should be fawn?

Is fawn beige for 1961 different than that of other years?

Is eye-ball color matching the best one can do these days? Has anyone compiled a cross reference to current colors?
