[FC] 1961 Greenbrier 4 speed shifter to a 1964 shifter

My 1961 Greenbrier shifter rod bent and the pin on the trans broke off. I have a 1964 van four speed shifter and tank and rod. It is looking alot harder to switch the shifter and trans than I had hoped. Does anyone know where I can get a 1961 style shift rod and if the 64 4 speed is the same as a 1961 4 speed transmission?
My 61 came from California and the 64 came from North Carolina. The NC tank is softer than I had hoped. That is the bigger reason I want to try to save the 61 style shifter.
