Noah, metal work is not usually all that expensive. From you describe it would be cheaper than having someone completely overhaul the engine. Find a good restoration shop near you and get an estimate, have them separate out the metal work, which should include prepping for paint, from the paint work. There are many shops that will do the metal work and get it ready for Maaco. Of course most shops will be much more careful with the paint prep if they are doing the painting, but some would rather have you have it painted somewhere else. Gary
