DannyThanks for your help. I do have the printed - out page from that shop manual here with me. The problem I have with the diagram is that it does not match the reality I see when i remove my instrument panel. The wiring diagram shows a single post connector on the back of the switch, and the switch itself seemingly grounded to the instrument panel. On my truck, The two prong plug on the back of the wiper switch with its brown has it's two spade connectors arranged like a chevron or right angled "V"  with the top of the V at the 12 O clock position. I will trace both of those wires on the back of the switch and hope to find an empty  female plug that the red wire with its male plug from the wiper motor can attach to.More to come.TimW
