Corvan load floor color

Ed,

Having had two fairly unmolested Corvans. A 1963 and a 1964.

I can tell you the rear area paint is similar to what a GB Standard would be painted.

The floor itself would be painted the satin black. This would also include the taller areas around the engine (air inlet areas) continueing black on all the floor/trans area down to the middle floor and continueing uparound the wheel wells, etc.

The Verticle surfaces would be the same interior color as the standard front dash and cab. The silver/tan color (Frank Duval correct me on the proper name). This also includes the underside of the roof including the insulating/headlining piece between the ribs and the flat metal on the rear of the corvan. Check Kent Sullivan's stuff and others for the original brouchure. Should just get a Chevy truck brouchure from 1963. So unless somehow Bell sprayed the inside green, it would have come from the factory as above.

My experience Ed. -- Lee Cramp

> I asked this over on the Corvair Center site but got no where. Does anyone know the color of the load area on FC's?. I've seen body color, black, light and dark gray and every color in between. I was always under the assumption it was a charcoal gray (Cals Rampside) to be able to touch it up easily rather then body color. Some brochures show gray also but sometimes they are not correct.
> I've also heard and read and seen the drivers compartment in black. My Bell van is getting close to this stage and I want to be able to tell the guys what color to go with. Thanks Ed in Florida
