The bearing that was pictured had a bad roller in it! It will make noise.

FWIW are you sure it is the rear. After I replaced both the rear bearings on my '64 GB with NOS ones I got a humming bearing noise a month or so later that I was sure was from the left rear (new) bearing. It turned out to be the left front wheel bearings. Sitting over the front axle can make noises more difficult to locate. Hope you're that lucky.Bob HallSent from AOL Mobile Mail-----Original Message-----From: Ashley Ackley via Corvanatics <corvanatics at corvair.org>To: corvanatics <corvanatics at corvair.org>Sent: Thu, Aug 30, 2018 08:55 AMSubject: [FC] How long can I drive on a bad wheel bearing in back?Okay, so realistically how long can I drive on this after it starts humming before it melts down. I did just re-pack both sides because it’s 50 year old grease.[image1.jpeg]-------------- next part --------------A non-text attachment was scrubbed...Name: image1.jpegType: image/jpegSize: 3032347 bytesDesc: image1.jpegURL: <http://www.vv.corvair.org/pipermail/corvanatics/attachments/20180830/315c9417/attachment.jpeg>_______________________________________________Corvanatics mailing listCorvanatics at corvair.orghttp://www.vv.corvair.org/mailman/listinfo/corvanaticsThis list sponsored by the Corvair Society of America, http://www.corvair.org/_______________________________________________Corvanatics mailing listCorvanatics at corvair.orghttp://www.vv.corvair.org/mailman/listinfo/corvanaticsThis list sponsored by the Corvair Society of America, http://www.corvair.org/
