Daniel: Bryan has the ultimate fix. In the meantime - why don't you block off
both secondaries where they join the manifold. a piece of aluminum sheet
that can be easily cut and drilled would be ideal. See how it operated in this
mode. If the secondaries are flooding, the feed lines may have to be disconnected.

This might give you some time to get the primary carbs functioning correctly - check the
floats and settings. Also the jet size - I believe #50 is correct. Also synchronize the
primaries too. If all works well and your gas mileage returns to normal, replace the worn
items (see Clarks catalog they have new and used parts available). Then repeat
for the secondaries and add them to the engine.

See pp 55 - 62 in Clarks Main Catalog.

Hey all.

This morning I drove my Corsa from Falls Church out to Leesburg -- 35 miles. I'm happy to report that the trip was uneventful, but there are a couple of minor concerns:

1) The linkage to my driver's side secondary is quite loose as the rod to which the throttle plate is connected is pretty worn. I have two options:

a) Replace the bowl. Does anyone have a secondary carb I can snag? Or is there a way of adapting a primary bowl?

b) Drill out the rivet and replace with a screw. Is this a kit or is this something where you just wing it?

2) Gas mileage is pretty poor -- I used a quarter of a tank going 35 miles. I'm thinking this is because the secondary is always open and is just dumping gas into the carb for the reasons described in (1) above. Am I right?

3) The tach doesn't go about 2200 RPM. Thoughts?

thanks,
daniel
