I've broken the manual choke cable on my '61. (The '61s were the only ones
that had a manual choke, both cars and FCs)
Clark's has a NOS cable but it's $83. They also have a replacement cable
($25) but it looks like it doesn't mount to the bottom of the dash the same
way (there's a picture in the catalog). I called Clark's and spoke to a
technical type guy who told me it does but I'm still a little skeptical. I
don't see how the new one could be mounted to the old bracket.
There's also a new replacement cable on Ebay for about half of what Clark's
wants. The auction is over in 2 days.
Has anyone tried to replace an original '61 manual choke cable with one of
the non original replacements?
