[NoVa-Corvairs] Action Needed - Electronic Vote for Vair Fair Location by Monday 07 August

Gents,

The set-up sounds great. In reading the feedback on the national, it
seems that the hotel did not have everything in one place and many were
miffed....why not go with the $99 room rate (including full breakfast
which will doubtlessly excite the frugal a bit) and give the rest a map to
the nearest motel 6? Meeting rooms are likely somewhat negotiable as
perhaps the banquet room fee may be.

I am around this weekend as well if you decide to get together and crunch
the numbers.

Darrin

Ron, thanks for doing the legwork. I did a quick check of events on
the CORSA calendar, and the hotel costs range from $45 to $85, so I
have some concern there. It's a nice hotel, but we may be priced a
little too high. There are, however, several pluses to this place -
the free breakfast, dedicated lot, etc. I don't know that it adds up
to a significantly better event than we had at Manassas - there is
something to be said for the hotel being the backdrop and once you're
above a certain point it doesn't matter enough.

I think my bottom line is no with this pricing - if we can get them to
move down somewhat in a few areas then I would change my mind.

Room rate - $89
Hospitality/Meeting room - right now it's $1700 for both. I'd like to
see < $1000.
Banquet - $54 for two is too much. If they have a decent buffet option
for under $20/person that might work.

We should review the numbers from the previous events to see how many
registrants we're looking at.

Curt's point is well taken that we have some money in the bank so we
can be a bit flexible given that several folks want to have the Vair
Fair "somewhere besides Manassas".
