[NoVa-Corvairs] Insurance for Classics

Howard,

Thanks for the input. Actually, I have GEICO for my other cars. I called them yesterday and they said they don't insure classics. They referred me to another company (I can't remember the name).

I did a little research on the internet this morning and found Hagerty Insurance, which I had at least heard of. I typed in my info and got a quote of $99/year. This seems pretty darn good but I saw in the fine print that the car has to be in a locked garage every night - a problem for me since I have no garage. I wonder if a garage is a common requirement for classic insurance.

Hi Mike,

I'll have to see who I used to use (since I am in between Corvairs still....) but I know GEICO now offers such insurance. Too bad they didn't when I needed it.

  Hi All,

I'm planning to finally get my '61 tagged this week, but first I need to
arrange insurance. My current insurance company doesn't offer insurance
for classic cars.

Can anyone suggest a good company? I'm a big fan of saving money so
cheap is good.

Thanks.

Mike
