Daniel,
Same rod as best I can tell....did it get bent as well? With it
disconnected from the cross shaft and you have someone push the gas pedal
in does is pull the rod towards the firewall as it is supposed to? Is the
rod mounted to the top of the accelerator pivot? Is the pivot mounted
upside down (not sure that is possible but giving you points for
creativity here)?

[NoVa-Corvairs] Now I'm in a bind.
Literally.
My carb cross-shaft, accelator rod, and accelerator pivot are all
replacement pieces I recently purchased. When I hook all of them
together, the entire mechanism binds up. I unscrewed the bit on the
accelerator rod that fits into the carb cross-shaft until it was at the
very end of the rod, and this did nothing.
Is there a different accelerator rod for a '65 140?
