[NoVa-Corvairs] Fiero = Horrifying

Today I test-drove a 30,000 mile 1985 Fiero I found on Craigslist. I was told that a CV joint bearing would have to be replaced in order to make the car right once again, as a noise from the rear developed shortly after a clutch job. After test-driving this bobbing, weaving, wobbling, plastic coffin, I convinced the seller to remove the offending rear wheel -- he's a retired sergeant and I happened to be looking authoritative in my class A uni today (earlier, we court-martialled a warrant officer who had a problem with freebasing cocaine and leaving his crack pipe where he oughtn't). Sure enough, the mechanic didn't tighten the nut holding the cv shaft to the hub.

After rectifying the problem, the Fiero definitely drove straighter, though it was still a horrifying jaunt through the Oklatucky countryside. While I certainly realized that Fieros are disposable little shitboxes, I didn't quite realize that Pontiac engineers literally designed a car around a 4'x 8' sheet of plywood.
