Hi Kristi,
Well, yes and no - if the car died and wouldn't restart, I'd agree
that something broke in the ignition. But it doesn't sound like
that's the case. If it's been a while since the car has had a point
adjustment and new rotor and such, it can't hurt to do those, but I'd
start by doing a dwell and timing check. Bear in mind the factory
advised 10K miles between point adjustment/replacement, so this is
normal maintenance if you drive it a lot.
