[NoVa-Corvairs] Question on Transmission Mounts for 64

OK, Rex was right about the cars...just a few of interest.
One was a rather rusty Rampside, blue with white stripes...and was a very
solid beige/tan rampy too that I was interested in. Bidding on the
blue/white rustside went from zero to three grand fast...ended at SEVEN
THOUSAND DOLLARS! Inexplicable. Really nice guy and his wife (who may
join the club)..he said his wife really wanted it for sentimental reasons.
She likes blue? Knew there is gold in there somewhere? Not sure. He
also bought the nice rampside for $2k and the wagon and 63 vert. Hope he
joins.
Greg picked up a rock solid 65 PG coupe...LA car showing 13K on the
odometer....hmmmnnn...500 bucks. Brilliant. I have never seen a trunk
as solid and nice as this one in a car with such faded paint. A few rust
holes to patch in the usual places and paint will make this a great
driver.
Greg also let me drive his van up and back...you certainly get a lot of
looks in a big red Greenbrier! Drives pretty sweet.
Nice day out....and I didn't buy anything!

Re: [NoVa-Corvairs] Question on Transmission Mounts for 64
Thanks Curt & Greg! After going out and taking a look, I think either
of these options will work. I will also remove the leaf spring and pull
both axles out our just to make sure I can get enough clearance. It
looks like I'll have to drop it about 1 1/2 inches to clear the mount
studs and have room to install the new mounts. I'm hoping the new
mounts will also correct the problem I'm having with excessive tow in on
both rear wheels.
On another note, I've attached some pictures of the estate auction that
me, Greg and Darrin attended today in Boonsboro, MD. There were 15
Corvairs of varoius models. Unfortunately, most were parts cars with
the exeption of a 2 EM's, 1 red LM Coupe, attached, that Greg won, and 2
Rampside's. I left before the bidding started, but Darrin & Greg may
have more deatils on what appears to have been some truly bizzare
bidding on one of the Rampside's.
