[NoVa-Corvairs] Generator issue

I received the other generator today. Honestly looked worse than the one that I had. I changed out the voltage regulator Ron gave me. Put everything back  together and even with looking  thru the wiring schematics the generator is not working. The light still remains on. It was actually off when I switched all the wires back to my old regulator and restarted the car, but as soon I mounted my old regulator back in its place the light came back on?

I'm stumped. Greg if you have that good generator at your home I can get? I'll compensate you here the near future. I'm basically trying to get the Corvair running so I can move it to clean it, give it an old oil change and etc.
