Yep, even carboned up heads and pistons absorb the first shot of gasoline. I have this shot from back when I sold the stuff, and fixed hundreds of problems.

When faced with hesitation, my first try, unless everything is new, is a bottle of Techron. It can clean up deposits in the entire system, and cleans any carbon that might be on the valves absorbing the first mist of gasoline that is being pulled in.
