[NoVa-Corvairs] Exhaust question

One reason why my exhaust is so loud is because I installed a custom-made one-piece extractor that fits on the end of each manifold.  The thing is the size of a sewer pipe.  
Because of this, I will have to order full exhausts for each side -- mufflers, u-pipes, tips, hangers,
straps, bolts, etc.  Curiously, it would be cheaper for me to order from Clark's a set of small-diameter extractors (which "includes all packings and hangers") than it would to order a full [welded] stock exhaust system.  The only disadvantage (if you could call it that) is that
you have to paint them yourself (although Clark's supplies the paint).
Opinions?  I think they look and sound great, and they'll allow me to have heat when the weather turns cold.
