Given that the car was otherwise pretty complete and unmolested (as I recall) when you got it I'd agree that the carbs are original.
Which leads me to - Corvair 140 primaries are not the same as 110 carbs. For that matter, there are subtle changes from year to year and between horsepower ratings in a given year (read Bob Helt's book on carbs for the details). Personally, I would re-shaft and rebuild the carbs that are on the car now if you have some confidence they are original, unless you are certain that the replacements are '65/'66 140 primaries. If you want to swap on some other primaries so the car isn't down that sounds like a good idea, but only until you re-do the originals.
Conveniently, I believe Frank wanted to do carburetors at the August meeting. Perhaps bring your carbs, kits, and a set of new shafts?
