Hey Stan,
Frank DuVal's idead sounds great since you have the lights.
Easy to make flat plexiglass lenses with almost any thickness. You can frost the plastic by sanding with oh. around 120 grit or so.
Works. I used to have a bunch of glass lenses that are convex and about that size. And may even be able to find them! But if you can use a lower voltage and do Franks method it would work. Turn signals would be easy to put a small led behind the lense.
or substitute the 1157 for a single filiment 1156 (back up light) and run off of 12 volt if not too bright.
For everyone. I have signed up and paid for a membership for my longtime Corvair Friend -- Mark Holmlund. Mark is now in McLean and will be slowley restoring/renovating his old Show car from the 70's. An air cond 1966 Corsa Coupe in Aztec Bronze with an Aztec Bronze int. Not for sale!
I could not find AJ's email or seperate it from the list. So I want to make sure to add Mark's info to the Roster and ad his email to both the Newsletter list and also this NVCC list. Sorry AJ to not get this to you first.
Some of you who do Corvair Center and the Corvair Formum may know him from his Goopofoil email.
So here it is: Mark Holmlund

email works always for him. Thanks. Lee Cramp.
PS. Thanks to LD Brent and Darrin Hartzler for their kind offers of parts to get Frank's new Corsa down to Stafford/Hartwood., Va.
Should be heading down in Sept.

thanks, Bryan- yeah, I was thinking along the line of landscape lighting.. was just trying to think of a way to get the headlight lense- can't really cut the car headlights because they are glass all around, but are there just fronts of lenses out there that are the same size?
Thanks!

Hi Stan,
I'd consider just putting lenses in and some frosted acrylic for headlight lenses, then use some low voltage landscape lights behind them. You just want 'accent' level lighting, not really 'car' lighting.
