[NoVa-Corvairs] August Meeting

Rory,
Rockville Ring and Bearing in the Gasoline Alley area of Rockville near the gas company has had Corvair experience for many years. Darrin Hartzler used them recently. They can give you a price for the balancing and also if the flywheel needs a scuffing or resurface. I think just Mon - Friday. Can get there via Gude Drive or the back way from the metro down Horner's lane. Next to the tire/rim shop. Oh, they also turn drums and other automotive machine work. There are some other good shops but this one may be the closest. -- Lee -- 240-704-5479

Subject: Re: August Meeting
I'm not sure when the meeting is being held. I better find out since Rita and I are hosting.
How do I balance the pressure plate and flywheel? Timing of this task is critical as I don't have the pressure plate yet and Bob is bringing the flywheel.

Hey All, I am not sure of which Saturday this Clutch party is to occur in August. Please repeat the date so I can put it in my schedule. Always good to have a good matched pair of flywheel/Pressure plate to put in. The 140 is a stronger spring and slightly heavier pressure plate. Nice to have the unit balanced before you put it in.
This clutch party reminds me of a 1920's joke/cartoon where the male driver says to the female passenger while driving in their Roadster. He: "My Clutch is weak" She: "So I've noticed!" Thanks -- Lee Cramp
Been mentioning this meeting to a couple of possible new recruits as this is a close one for the Maryland side of the river.

Thanks Bryan. I've added 3767NR to the order. That piece is expensive. 😃

The correct one for a '66 Corsa is C3767. There's a new ring gear version, C3767NR, if you prefer. I'm not really sure how much of a problem ring gear wear is, but they have a point that the OE ones are 50 years old.
