Hey all NVCC folks,
Thought this might interest you. My region of the AACA. But scroll down to the end. There you will find the auction flyer for the Buzz(Buzzy) Potter Estate Auction on Sept 30th.hold stuff and furniture
Buzz died earlier this year at almost 100. A lifetime collection of cars, parts, memorabilia. Lots of interesting household stuff and furniture also.
Attend this one. Just to see some nice cars. Me? I would buy the Olds Vista Cruiser! These are the best and rarer of the group, but there are other vehicles of all ages. Equipment etc. Location is just over the bridge in Maryland. Literally. As the Beltway took half of the Potter property in the early 60's. Buzz retired and invested and enjoyed many years in the old Car World.
The other two things i want you to be aware of. Listed in the Piston popper is also the Urbana, Md car show on Sunday Sept 10th. Some of you attended this several years ago when the Corvair was highlighted. I will be there volunteering. Nice show and after the show you can continue on to Harper's Ferry or Antietam etc.
On the 10th also is the bi monthly meeting for Patina. Right in old McLean on Balls Hills Rd at the American Legion. Go at least to check out the tools for sale at the parking lot tailgate and the mini auction. Good Speaker from Colonial Williamsburg also. www.patinatools.org<http://www.patinatools.org>
If you were not entering a vehicle and wanted to check out some tools, you could do both!
I wraped my head around the very rare 1986 Subaru andwas able to get the heater hose leaks fixed and get the exhaust system almost done. Had to make Stainless exhaust studs like we do on the Corvairs. Will drive someone nuts in 30 years as the end going into the head is 10 x 1.25 and the other is 3/8 x 16 (GM)
So I am hoping to have it up at Urbana and maybe with an Antique Tandem Bicycle. So hope some of this might be appealing or interesting. You are always welcome to try an old car tour as my guest. I know you guys like Corvair only stuff. But this Region does about 6 a year. Bull Run Region also does at least one as does the Fredericksburg Region. If you belong to AACA the Region will usually let you come as a guest. Or if you are invited by a member.
No Orphan Car Tour this year. If a couple people want to take it on the originators will be willing to help but is too much by themselves. Check with Jon Battle when you are at the Rohr Show in Mannasas.
Got one Antique back on the road. So maybe a Corvair is Next! -- Lee Cramp
