[PPCC] CANCELLED - PPCC Rally Day - Saturday, September 14, 2013

Hello Everyone, 

  

With absolutely zero people getting back to me that they would be attending the Rally event (I did receive several emails that folks would/could not attend), I am making the call today to cancel the event for this Saturday.  If there is no interest, then there is no point in trying to make it happen. 

  

Thank you Kelina Halpin for the many, many hours (and tanks of gas) you put in to running the route with me and documenting what would have been a fine rally effort.  Maybe we'll have enough interest at another time, next year.

The below information has been posted in both club newsletters, and a reminder given during last week's RMC meeting, but wanted to reach out once more to get a headcount of how many folks plan on attending this event.

PPCC Rally Day 
Saturday, September 14, 2013 
Show Your Best Poker Face!! 

What: "Gimmick Rally" sponsored by the 
PPCC. The Rally will cover a course set up 
with 5 designated checkpoints and scattered 
with questions to be answered along each leg 
of the run. At each checkpoint, teams will 
pick up an envelope, which will have a playing 
card in it. Upon completion of the rally, 
when we meet up for lunch, teams will open 
their 5 envelopes at the same time and display 
their hand. Best poker hand will win a 
prize. The team that answers the most questions 
correctly will also win a prize. 

When : Saturday, September 14th, 10:00am start 

Where : Rally will start in Castle Rock at the King Soopers parking lot 
(Milestone Shopping Center - 100 Founders Pkwy, Castle Rock, CO) ‎ 
and will end in Colorado Springs.  The route will cover approximately 
75 miles of paved roadway 
with beautiful views and vistas. There will 
be no dirt or unpaved roads on this course. 

Who : All PPCC and RMC members, family 
members, and friends are invited to attend. 
Driving a Corvair is not required, but 
is strongly encouraged. Teams will consist 
of a Driver and a Navigator, and no technology 
is allowed to be used (phone, GPS , etc.)
