Hi gang,
To clarify… Charlie and I went over to Chris’s last week to do some diagnostic work on her car. Here is what we found.
1) Compression is marginal, mostly low 90’s wit a couple cylinders at 115.
2) Once started, and off idle it developed a major knock which sounds like coming from the #5 or #6 big end of the rod. Did not do any disassembly to determine exact cause of the knock.
Bottom line is that her motor was getting quite tired with higher than normal oil consumption and general lack of performance which is why we believe a 110 would be a good upgrade and search for a good used unit to try and save some dollars that will be put into a freshly remanufactured PG from Clarks.
You can contact me directly with any questions or suggestions.
Best,
Rick Beets
