Your question came up at the RMC meeting last Friday and we briefly chatted about it. Dale Neilson had had good success with outer rubber squeegees (fuzzie replacement); however, the source he used no longer supplies them for Corvairs.
He may have additional insight on this conversion.
You may have to fabricate something from a Camaro or Nova coupe.
