RMC List - Picnic yesterday

Hi folks,
 
Thanks to all who attended and to the walk-by assistant cooks.  Thanks also to everybody who brought additional food and beverages and those that helped me putting my top up and down on my car due the the rain shower.  Thanks to Eric for the grill, the fuel and source of ignition.  I'm sure if a ranger dropped by the fire extinguisher was a good sign we were serious.
 
I've attached my final tally of meat items consumed, based a little on my memory.  I'm thinking if we grill next year this might be helpful info.  Comments are welcome.
 
By way of an apology, I should explain that food safety was a big deal when I was on the Search & Rescue Task-Force.  Entire teams were sidelined by poor food prep and safety.  Add to that, I was a Salvation Army canteen driver & crew chief for their Emergency Disaster Services group for several years and the objective was food safety and to get people fed fast.  The crew chief is the driver and head cook.  Therefore, I become quite focused when doing that sort of work so I may have been a bit short with folks yesterday and I was not circulating very well to talk to people.  I could hear Eric behind me doing the social piece so I appreciate him doing that.
 
I hope everybody had a good time.  Some folks we don't see often were there so we had an added bonus on that front.
 
We have had small informal discussions that if the burn ban trend continues and Eric is driving a Corvair we may not have his grill.  Be thinking about how we can compensate.  Bringing BBQ or Catering might be an alternate.
