Great newsletter!

Is the coil you are using oil filled? I once had a coil that was oil filled that decided to produce less secondary voltage for some reason. A guess was that the effective number of windings in the secondary was reduced by shorting or the oil started to conduct rather than insulate. I guess that could also occur with a solid insulated coil that is sent a higher primary voltage than it can handle.
