Last night I sent out an e-mail with the rather cryptic subject line of

"Application to form new Special Interest Group Chapter: StockCorvair Group"

It should have been labeled differently. Sorry.

PLEASE read that e-mail in its entirety! The future of the Annual Stock
Corvair Event is now in jeopardy, due to a decision made by the CORSA
president, Sarah Jones Beltrami, the CORSA Executive Secretary, Harry
Jensen, and the Chairman of the CORSA Convention Committee, Larry Claypool
(who is also a member of SCG). These three people have collectively decided
that there is no place in the CORSA convention, to be held next year in
Buffalo, NY, for the ASCE, in spite of the fact that all of this was made
known to them earlier this year and they all signed off on it and it has
already been publicized in the CORSA Communiqué (see prior a-mail).

ASCE is not costing CORSA one cent, but it has potential to bring many
dollars back into CORSA, through increased interest and membership, and
through the eventual sale of information gained from the annual study of
these cars. We designed the ASCE to be a politically neutral event that
would not detract from Concours, the car display, or any other CORSA events.
WE had found a location in the Buffalo convention which did not interfere
with nor compete against any of the other events. There is no logical
reason for the ASCE not to be held.

If you care about this event, PLEASE do NOT write back to ME expressing your
support - I cannot fix this problem by myself. I ran the entire process
through all proper channels, as they were explained to me, and now it seems
as though that was not enough.

The ASCE needs YOUR SUPPORT to survive. NOW is the time for each of you to
write to these three people as well as to the entire CORSA Board to express
your support for this project.
